Privacy Policy
How Tonera handles account data, audio files, and browser-based conversions.
Last updated: 2026-09-20
What Tonera Processes
Most Tonera conversion tools run entirely in your browser. Standard audio-to-MIDI, MusicXML-to-MIDI, MIDI preview, and notation exports do not upload the source file to Tonera.
If you create an account, Tonera stores the account details needed to authenticate you, such as your name, email address, session data, and credit history. Essential cookies are used for sign-in, security, and language preferences.
High-Precision Stem Separation
Audio is uploaded only when you explicitly enable high-precision stem separation. The file is stored temporarily in Cloudflare R2 and sent to Replicate to separate the recording into stems. Source uploads expire after six hours in the application and are also covered by automatic storage deletion rules. Generated stems are retained temporarily so you can download them.
Do not upload audio unless you have the right to process it. Standard browser-only conversions never send the audio to Replicate.
Service Providers
Tonera currently uses:
- Cloudflare for website delivery, database storage, temporary object storage, security logs, and operational monitoring.
- Replicate only for the optional high-precision stem-separation feature.
These providers process data under their own privacy and security terms. Tonera does not sell personal information.
Logs and Security
We may process request metadata, error logs, device and browser information, and security events to keep the service reliable and prevent abuse. Logs are not used to reconstruct the content of browser-only conversions.
Retention and Your Choices
Browser-only source files remain on your device. Temporary server-side audio is deleted when processing finishes or expires, subject to short backup and lifecycle windows. Account, task, and credit records are kept while needed to provide the service, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
You may request access to or deletion of your account data through the support area available after sign-in. Some records may be retained where required for security, billing, or legal compliance.
Changes
We may update this policy when Tonera's processing or providers change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
